Description
Die Dauerausstellung der Antikensammlung im Kasseler Schloss Wilhelmshöhe (Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel - MHK) wurde im Juni 2018 um einen sammlungsgeschichtlichen Teil erweitert, der sich insbesondere den Erwerbungen des Landgrafen Friedrich II. widmet.Seine Ankäufe in Rom 1777, die Eröffnung des Museum Fridericianum 1779 und die gleichzeitig beginnende wissenschaftliche Erforschung in der „Altertümergesellschaft“ zeichnen die Kasseler Sammlung aus und begründen ihren europäischen Rang. Die Ausstellung inszeniert die Antikenbegeisterung der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts und präsentiert aktuelle wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse.
Mithilfe der App "MHK Antikensammlung" werden im neu gestalteten Rom-Saal durch „Augmented Reality“ zusätzliche Skulpturen für die Museumsbesucher sichtbar. Sie erscheinen auf dem Bildschirm zwischen den übrigen Exponaten und Vitrinen und sind somit ein virtueller Teil des neuen Ausstellungsbereichs.
Auch zu den real vorhandenen Exponaten bietet die App "MHK Antikensammlung" zusätzliche Informationen. Insgesamt werden den Besuchern in der virtuellen Erweiterung der Ausstellung 60 Vergleichsabbildungen sowie 20 Video- und Audiodateien angeboten. Diese App kann nur in den Räumen der Antikensammlung im Kasseler Schloss Wilhelmshöhe benutzt werden.
