Description
TriviaThriller is designed for Android phones and tablets. The app presents random phrases to the player, suggesting common sayings and phrases.Objective:
The challenge is to reveal the response phrase suggested by the Trivia Phrase presented. The objective is to gain as many points as possible and display the trivia response during 120 seconds. The secondary goal is to beat your highest score in future games. The game awards the player different values in points for each letter, while the player forms the response phrase in the Trivia Grid.
The Home Page
The prevailing high score is displayed on the home page. The player should touch the [PLAY GAME] button on the Home Page to move to the Game Page. If the player wishes to view the instructions before starting the game, the player may touch the [VIEW GUIDE] button.
The Game Page
The game session allows 2 minutes to correctly complete a trivia response phrase, in the Trivia Grid. There are multiple trivia phrases available in the Trivia Thriller app. However, only 1 trivia phrase is selected randomly and presented in each game. The player must touch the [GO PLAY] button to activate the game and present a trivia phrase. The trivia phase is presented above the Trivia Grid. The player should then place and accept bids for each letter to be displayed in the Trivia Grid to form the correct response phrase.
The Strategy
After tapping [GO PLAY] you should read the clue above the grid and provide a trivia response phrase by bidding on letters to form the words to the response phrase, in the Trivia grid. You should accept random consonants and vowels with bid values for each letter to form the words in the Trivia grid. To receive a random bid amount and a vowel, you may tap the (VO) button; then tap (V+) to accept, or (V-) to reject the letter. Similarly, to receive a bid amount and a consonant, you may tap the (CO) button; then tap (C+) to accept, or (C-) to reject the letter. If an accepted letter is correct for the response phrase, it will appear in the Trivia grid, and its value (times its frequency) will be added to your score. If a bid letter is not correct for the trivia phrase, its value is reduced from your score.
During the game, you may recognize the phrase building in the grid and choose to complete the response phrase in the Trivia Grid. To do so, you should tap the [WRAP UP] button. The Timer will stop and you should then tap the cursor blinking in the text box below the button. Use the soft keyboard to enter the trivia phrase. You should then lower the soft keyboard and tap the [SUBMIT] button to verify your answer. If the response trivia phrase is correct, the game ends and your score is increased by 5,000 points. If the response phrase is not correct, the game ends and you lose 5,000 points.
At the top-right of the page, a marker displays the time available as the game progresses. At the top-left of the page, the prevailing high score is displayed. You should try to beat the prevailing high score, during each subsequent trivia game.
Session Wrap-up
After 120 seconds, or if you resolve the trivia phrase, whichever comes first, the game ends with appropriate on-page notices. You are encouraged to tap the [GO PLAY] button to start another game. The High Score will be updated if you beat the prevailing high score. The prevailing high score will also be displayed on the Main page of the application.
