Appy Weather is the most personal weather app because it's been designed for humans by someone who actually checks the weather too. By summarising the weather in plain-spoken & user-friendly language via its one-of-a-kind Timeline screen, Appy Weather sets itself apart from all other weather apps — no more scrolling long lists to figure out the weather as it's now summarised for you in a few lines and makes checking the weather fast, easy and actually fun! That said, there are more conventional hourly & daily views if that's what you prefer.
Appy Weather's hyperlocal accurate forecasts are powered by AerisWeather, Apple Weather, OpenWeather and Foreca.

Appy Weather is privacy-first. It doesn’t collect or process any user data.
If location permission is granted, your location will be stored locally on your device – it’s never shared with a third party.
Your location enables hyper-local forecasting when the app is run. Widgets & notifications check your location in the background when they’re updated/sent.
Latest updates
What's new in version 2024.01.23
Fixed weather not loading if location permission has been denied. In my checks at launch, there was an oversight scenario. Nothing sinister going on, trust me. So sorry!
The app now targets newer Android APIs: for the app to be allowed background location updates, give permission via the app’s system settings -> Location screen. You’ll need to change it so it’s allowed access all the time (not just when using the app). Also, you’ll be prompted to allow notifications if you’re a sub on launch.

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Like many others, I've been looking for a Dark Sky replacement, and I think I found it in Appy Weather. For me, the widget that shows upcoming conditions is essential, and Appy's does what I need. The app's displays are clean and informative. And when I had a minor issue with upgrading to the paid options the developer responded almost instantly. Definitely recommended.
3 ★Not bad. A nice interface. It is a bit cumbersome figuring out how to access some of the features, compared to other weather apps. I paid $4.99 to get a feel for all of the features. I will not be using this app in it's current state, and believe there's still a bit of improvement to be made to (IMO) justify the monthly rate. I wish this app offered a timed 'Refund' option in case a person didn't want to commit. Developer, would you be willing to provide a refund as I will be uninstalling soon.
5 ★I tried just about every decent weather app on the Google Play Store looking for a replacement for Dark Sky, and Appy got my money. Compared to Dark Sky, it's missing some control over notifications (but that's in the works) and the layout makes data a bit more difficult to read but maybe I just need to get used to it. I love that there's a lot of data available (including my favs: precipitation probability and UV index) but they're hidden away to avoid clutter. One last thing: I contacted the dev to suggest a few improvements for us Dark Sky expats and he was incredibly responsive to my suggestions and most of what I was missing is seemingly under construction!! Overall, I'd recommend Appy as a replacement for Dark Sky or simply if you want an uncluttered but complete weather app created and maintained by a dev who cares.
5 ★I was just another Dark Sky user, frustrated and unsure of what could ever replace it... Luckily, I found AppyWeather. It is a WONDERFUL app - visually stimulating yet minimalist, intuitive and easy to navigate, and full of features that I thought I would lose without Dark Sky, like notifications about upcoming precipitation all the way down to the street you live on. I'm thrilled with this app, it does every I ask of it and more, and the developer is very helpful and open to feedback. A+!
5 ★I really enjoy this minimal but highly functional app. It gives me exactly the info I need on the forecast as fast as it can, no more or less. No distractions and several weather sources. The only thing I'd add is a tablet UI. The three paned view would spread really nicely across a tablet screen! But for phones it is perfect!
5 ★Dark Sky/WU users, look no further! This is your new weather app! The layout and design is super easy to comprehend. It gets you the highlights in a perfect way, but you can "dig in" if needed. Widgets are plentiful and great. Best of all, the dev is super responsive, cares about and acts on feedback! There is a lot in the works for this app in terms of enhancements as well. Check this app out for a day or so and you'll be hooked. After 1 day I subscribed. Totally worth it!
3 ★Overall pretty good, but not at the level of a paid weather app (like dark sky), if you ask me. The radar map in particular lacks the resolution and functionality to actually make it useful. Update RE Plus vs Pro: I still say that the Plus radar (which costs money) is worse than what you can get from a free app. The existence of the even more expensive Pro level is irrelevant when comparing Plus to free weather apps.
5 ★Loved appy on the windows phone (miss my Windows Phone). Cannot find a widget on my Razor2. Also like darkskies will you or do you have a bar in the notifications. By the way I have subscribed as I am still a huge fan. Edit: I got support from Bardi. Thanks mate and between us we tracked down the issue. Thanks for the support. Thanks to that I gave the 2 missing stars. I am glad to have my old weather app back.
3 ★I purchased a subscription to support the app since I really liked the nice clean UI. The current weather is typically spot on. That being said once there is any prediction required, especially in the immediate future this app does not perform. For instance, the app will tell me it is going to start raining in 15 minutes, but there is not a cloud in the sky. I might end up cancelling my subscription if this apps accuracy isn't improved. What good is a weather app if it can't predict the weather?
5 ★This app is excellent. You get a ongoing notifications if you are like me and are constantly interested on the day to day weather. You can get warned about rain so you stay dry during your commute. You have the benefit of looking at days, hourly timelines, radar, week weather, all in one place. Also one of the only places that gets to keep using the Dark Sky API for super accurate forecasts on android. Not to mention the amazing developer who takes the rare bugs seriously and is prompt to address them.
5 ★I'm yet another user coming to Appy Weather for their Dark Sky replacement. I love the hourly view, notification tray settings, and the radar! Might I suggest adding a heat map (similar to what Dark Sky has) ? I had three requirements for a weather app: Reliable Push Notifications before Inclement Weather, Daily Push Notifications with an Overview for the Day, and a UX that doesn't look and function like like garbage. This app rocks all three and is the worthy successor you are searching for.
5 ★I was looking for a Dark Sky replacement and came across this app. I'm very happy so far. It seems like the Dev is focused on making improvements based on responses to other reviews. I purchased the Pro version to fully test the radar functionality. I hope that the radar functionality gets further refined. It would be nice to be able to slow down the radar playback and also be able to view radar for closer time intervals (ie. next 15 minutes, next 30 minutes, etc.).
