Mobilna aplikacija 3D Žitnica Rupe dio je projekta Dubrovačkih muzeja pod nazivom Multimedijalna prezentacija žitnice Rupe, koji ima za cilj predstaviti sve elemente kulturno-povijesnog, arhitektonskog i utilitarnog značenja zgrade u kontekstu Dubrovačke Republike.Ovim projektom Dubrovački muzeji žele osnažiti svoju ulogu u podizanju razine znanja i svijesti o važnosti očuvanja ovoga jedinstvenog arhitektonskog ostvarenja iz 16. stoljeća, u kojem je smješten Etnografski muzej Dubrovačkih muzeja. Aplikacija je namijenjena svim građanima i posjetiteljima, podjednako odraslima i djeci, te na cjelovit i sustavan način predstavlja arhitektonsku povijest žitnice.
Mobilna aplikacija predstavlja 3D virtualni svijet državne Žitnice Dubrovačke Republike, u kojem se korisnik može virtualno kretati i pregledavati 3D panorame. Sadržaj se može pregledavati na dva načina: izravno na zaslonu pametnog telefona ili s pomoću kartonskih naočala. Drugi način vrijedi samo za uređaje s ugrađenim žiroskopom. Bez žiroskopskog senzora pokreta naočale se ne mogu koristiti. Nakon instaliranja aplikacije umetnite svoj pametni telefon u složene kartonske naočale i uronite u 3D virtualni svijet!
