Description
Learn with National Parks is a free tool for students, teachers and parents, using the United States National Parks Service as the contextual environment for learning. The National Park Service has provided open source API’s and other data that allow students to learn, through using professionally developed lesson plans, seeing the many historical images available, and listening to various interesting sounds of nature recorded at the parks. It is also intended to encourage users to find all parks (down to the local level) located near them, to explore the park information through Google maps, and hopefully be motivated to go and experience them in person. The lesson plans are developed according to DOE standards and target various grade levels from early elementary through twelfth grade. They can be sorted by Title, Subject, or Saved
The National Park Service photostream will show you a grid of images from their official Flickr account. There are many historical photos. Browse, and see the description by clicking on an image. You can share that image by using the share button.
The sound gallery is a sampling of the vast collection of sounds curated by the National Park Service, both for preservation and for your enjoyment. Explore the various sounds. Hopefully each sound and its description can inspire teachers, parents and kids to have a discussion about them.
The park search activity is simple: click the button, and see the nearby parks pop up on the map. Each marker has a description. Click the marker, then click the maps logo at the bottom right, and a detailed description of that park will be shown. Click on the blue arrow at bottom right, and you will see driving directions from your location.
There is a companion widget for this app. To add the widget on your home screen, touch and hold any open space on your home screen until you see three icons on the bottom. Click on widgets, then swipe or scroll until you see "National Park Service Photostream" (the preview picture is a bear), then touch it and hold as it allows you to place it on your home screen. You should be able to swipe backwards or forwards to rotate the images. Click on the front image and it should take you to the detail screen for that image on the app.
You must be connected to the internet to properly use this app.
API's used: National Parks Service, Flickr and Google Maps.

Questions & Answers
Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.
