El RUNT realiza de manera virtual tres procesos básicos: valida información, autoriza la realización de un trámite por el organismo de tránsito y registra las actualizaciones de la información del trámite aprobado.
El RUNT adelanta estos procesos en línea y en tiempo real, utilizando tecnología de punta.
Validación, autorización y registro de las transacciones resultado de los trámites de tránsito y transporte concesionados.
Asignación de rangos de especies venales.
Control y seguimiento de recaudo de las especies venales .
Cargue de Información suministrada por todos los actores que intervienen en el RUNT.
Integración con los Otros Actores (Centros de Enseñanza Automovilística, CEA, Centros de Diagnóstico Automotor, CDA), etc)
Expedición de certificados de información
