Description

Air pollution is a major environmental concern in Hong Kong, yet many of us accept it as part of city living and believe that there is not much we, as members of the general public, can do about it.

This is not true, and a game-changing tool is about to change this mind-set.

PRAISE-HK (Personalised Real-time Air-quality Informatics System for Exposure in Hong Kong) is a smart city app that provides state-of-the-science real-time and forecasted (up to 48 hours) air quality and health risk information down the street where you are located. With this mobile app, you will gain convenient access to real-time and forecasted air quality information about your neighbourhoods and surroundings, helping you make informed decisions about your daily activities and reduce your individual exposure to air pollutants.

Key Features of PRAISE-HK:
+ Outdoor real-time air quality information down to the street in Hong Kong
+ 48-hour air quality forecast
+ Forecast videos to understand the interactions between pollutant emission and their transport by the weather systems

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Having trouble to make this app, but when it works, easy 5 stars! I just set up bookmarks for areas where I do exercise outside and I am able to pick the one where I am less exposed to air pollution.
5 ★Great Design and forecasting function! Will use this over the gov website from now on.. and bookmark function gives you warnings!
2 ★Good idea but it seems to use the HK government's thresholds for determining what is unhealthy, rather than the WHO's. Consequently, the health risk is reported as "low" (green) when the WHO standards currently say it's "unhealthy" (red)
5 ★informative and quite useful
1 ★app can't open
