Green Play è una metodologia alternativa e innovativa che mira a promuovere i valori educativi dello sport per tutti, sia negli sport di squadra che individuali, tra bambini e giovani.Per fare ciò, il progetto si basa sulla metodologia "Juga Verd Play" implementata con successo dal Consell Esportiu nella regione del Baix Llobregat.
Questo progetto è finanziato dal "programma Erasmus +".
La premessa di base del progetto è che, se si vuole educare ai valori, ottenere più punti rispetto all'avversario non può essere l'unica condizione per vincere la partita; contano anche valori e buon comportamento.
In questo senso, un'altra caratteristica unica del progetto è l'integrazione, nel processo di valutazione, di tutti i gruppi target che partecipano alle competizioni (pubblico, famiglie, arbitri e allenatori).
La metodologia Green Play sarà testata dalla Sporting Foundation in Portogallo, dalla federazione sportiva finlandese della regione di Tampere in Finlandia, dalll'Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica S.S. Lazio Basket in Italia e dal Consell Esportiu del Baix Llobregat in Catalogna. L'Istituto di Ricerca Sociale si occuperà di monitorare e valutare i cambiamenti comportamentali nei gruppi target.
Sport and Citizenship supervisionerà l'identificazione di best practices internazionali, redigerà raccomandazioni basate sulle attività del progetto e organizzerà la conferenza finale a Barcellona.
