Description
A NBHA Brazil – National Barrel Horse Association – é uma associação voltada ao fomento da modalidade de Três Tambores. Foi presidida por Marcelo Delchiaro até o início de 2017 tendo agora como presidente Abelardo Peixoto que assumiu o cargo em fevereiro de 2017. O esporte durante um bom tempo foi considerado amador e voltado apenas para as mulheres. Grandes entusiastas e pioneiros da raça quarto de milha trouxeram os Três Tambores para o Brasil, mas somente no fim dos anos 90 e início dos 2000 é que houve um grande boom onde a modalidade ganhou mais espaço e passou a crescer.Hoje o Brasil está entre os melhores países praticantes da modalidade, competindo de igual para igual com os Países que praticam a modalidade western, principalmente os Estados Unidos maior praticante do “barrel Racing”, onde o esporte é fortemente difundido.
O Surgimento
A NBHA Brazil Surgiu derivada da antiga APTB – Associação Paulista de Tambor e Baliza. A APTB foi fundada no ano de 2001, com o objetivo de fomentar o esporte equestre, através das modalidades de Tambor e Baliza, implantando um regulamento inovador e criativo no intuito de garantir competições em alto nível técnico, como mecanização do reparo das pistas, proibindo o uso de enxadas, pistas cobertas, restaurantes e banheiros adequados para os competidores e público, e o b em estar animal com a preocupação do CLEAN SPORT, através de legislação de anti dopagem adequada, entre outros.
