RetroArch is an open-source project that makes use of a powerful development interface called Libretro. This version of RetroArch differs from the one available on our website (www.retroarch.com) in that there is no Core Downloader, in compliance with the Google Play Store's policies. This version supports 50 cores max. If this is not enough for your needs, there are two options:
* Get RetroArch Plus, also available for free on the Play Store (this supports up to 127 cores). This version requires Android 8.0 or higher.
* Get RetroArch from our website (www.retroarch.com) and download the APK and install it. This version has the Core Downloader and is considered the 'full-fat' version.

How to install RetroArch APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download RetroArch APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads

2 ★Is it a great emulator? Yes. Then, why 2 stars? I installed it on my Chromecast with Google TV and guess what, I can't use the remote control to configure it, it is simply incompatible, the default CCGTV controller. I also have a 8-bitdo SN30 pro, and it also doesn't works... so I'm not able to play at all and because of this, for me this is a temporary 2 stars.
2 ★The UI is terrible, laggy, and looks atrocious. I had to fiddle around in the UI settings for half an hour to make it look like it wasn't coded by a child with bad eyesight. It brings up it's own awful keyboard instead of your own (extremely gross), and disables your native navigation buttons in places, which no app should even be allowed to do. I would vote one star for poor performance, and the unforgivable UX faux pas, but there's no ads, so. Two. You get a two.
4 ★Another excellent version of RetroArch. No issue at all. Downloaded the app and was playing a genesis game 20 seconds later. Awesome!
4 ★Decent emulation system. Plays most games well. Closes your game on you if you change apps for a second, if you don't save state first, you could lose the game you're playing. The on screen control options suck.
3 ★Really good but trying to run playstation 1 emulator and won't load I've put the correct bios but still doesn't work
5 ★Free, ad-free, all inclusive emulation solution. Best option for emulation on Android. The number of customization options makes it possible to get nearly anything running how you want.
3 ★same as plus crashes when scanning for games mame games dont work anymore some emulator cant find the right core most wont detect a core atari lynx dont work
4 ★Everything's fine, I run all my favourite game with this app smoothly... There's only few things that was considered as 'irritation' feature of this app, WHY EVERYTHING LOOKS SO BIG...? The menus, options even the gamepad is taking up screen, I try to find the option to resize the fonts and gamepad, but to no avail... I would gladly to give you 5 stars if the developer can 'fix' this problem...
3 ★This is a good emulator but I can't get directories to save when I change them, like changing the default save location to the save folder inside Retroarch. This is the 2nd time I had to type this comment cause the first....disappeared..
4 ★Really solid. Everything works perfectly. However, the N64 cores keep crashing when loading content? Probably just my phone's problem though.
3 ★Love how easy it is to use, but the menus really need to be changed like a smaller font size. Looks like I'm using an app from Gingerbread days.
4 ★I tried several cores and they all worked flawlessly. Plus, it's open source. Wish there would be a more appealing way to choose the games tho.
