Description

This weather app is not affiliated with NOAA or the National Weather Service. Products provided by NOAA are in the public domain, and this app's use of those products is compliant with NOAA/NWS terms of use.

This app provides forecasts, animated radar, hourly forecast, and current conditions, all in an intuitive and easy to use interface. Just the information you need, provided accurately, quickly, and for your exact location.

★ "A no-nonsense approach to show weather data on your phone, but done well and great looking" - Android Central

This app uses NOAA point forecasts from your GPS location to get the most localized weather available. Point forecasts are great for climbing, hiking, skiing, or any outdoor activity where weather from a nearby city isn't accurate enough.

GPS on the phone will provide the most accurate location, but usually isn't needed. Nearby cell towers and Wi-Fi networks can also provide this information, and will be checked first to save time and battery. You can also enter a location manually.

To provided highly localized forecasting, this app uses point forecasts from the National Weather Service (NOAA/NWS), and is therefore only available in the US.

If there is severe weather this will display at the top of the forecast. This app currently does NOT support severe weather alerts or notifications. NOAA is providing this service directly through cell carriers. You can read more about the service at https://www.weather.gov/wrn/wea.

There are also several differently sized widgets available which can be placed on your homescreen to provide some basic weather information, without the need to open the app.

Forecast discussion is available through the menu button.

Permission: Location
This app requires your location to provide you with the most accurate weather. This is fundamental to how the app works. You can still add manual locations as well if you prefer.

Permission: Photos/Media/Files
This permission is required by Google Maps so that it can cache map tiles for faster loading. It sounds like the app is doing something with your photos or media, but it is not. The permission means that the app has permission to access your files (which includes photos and media), but does not mean they are actually being accessed. It is a subtle but important distinction. Contact me if you have further questions about this.

These are the non-simplified permissions as listed in the Android manifest:
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" (location access listed above)
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" (check for network connection)
android.permission.INTERNET" (download weather)
android.permission.VIBRATE" (for zoom feedback on old radar)
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" (this is Photos/Media/Files listed above)
com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES" (required by google maps)

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

4 ★Like: app shows same info as NOAA; hourly graph is easily customizable (today I want to see wind speed but not humidity); can store multiple locations in addition to automatically detecting current location. Dislike: Aside from no Alerts, I want to see hourly history with hourly predictions. App always says it's having trouble finding my location on opening, then 5sec later voilà! No problems! Suggestion: add the local NOAA Twitter feed. Best source for actively developing severe weather!
5 ★I've tried no less than a dozen weather apps. I always end up coming back to this app. It has the best mix of design, features, and accuracy. The hourly weather graph is one of the features I most rely on and I appreciate the frequency it's updated.
3 ★Current conditions have rarely been visible for about 6 months. Figured they'd fix that by now, but no. I even tried changing which location is used for my weather and they still aren't showing. This is a pretty important feature!
5 ★Like the way the app quickly shows all I want to know about the current, daily, hourly and maps. Loads fast, tells me all I have it configured to display. Yes, I do have it set to show only what I want to see, disabling the rest. Thanks for adding the history back in. I used it all the time.
5 ★Very trustworthy and up to date. I Like it when you have questions or problems and you contact the developer they answer back. Not like other developers that write the same things in there reviews. Keep up the good work and Thanks 😊.
3 ★Don't really understand why it's necessary to hit the refresh button 50x in order to get it to load anything. Very annoying. Very slow to display any information. Seems to go out whenever you need to se the weather the most.
4 ★Very easy to use. Laid out well. Good value. The radar area is limited to about 500 miles and sometimes there is no data. Otherwise I would give stars. Recommended!
2 ★App frequently can't download the weather data which may be the fault of the Weather Service & their servers. But, this app is flawed in that the app doesn't remember the previously downloaded weather data. The app should remember the last weather data downloaded & display it when it can't download fresh data. App has had so many problems downloading data lately that it is becoming worthless. It's a good app when the data is available.
5 ★Thrilled to once again see pressure history. The loss of the pressure history had me trying other weather apps, even to the point of paying for them and then discarding them. I've yet to find any other nice neat app like this with the pressure and humidity histories I need. Increased stars for the effort.
5 ★Fast, customisable n wind info easy to see, very important for me. Seems to b more accurate than other weather apps. For me, by far best app in store. Would love constant gust info, even under 20mph, which seems to be the starting point for gust info.
5 ★Great weather app. Simple forcast. Can also do some complicated stuff. Has great map functions. Can choose locations to pull weather info. Paid version allows storing more than 3 locations.
5 ★A lot of weather apps have advertising or features which delay giving just the basics about weather. They take a long time to update and fail because of their graphics. I never had any problems with this weather app
