4 ★Very useful for me! I end up reading the content much faster on my phone than my laptop. One problem is that sometimes the mix-and-match questions are annoying due to how you have to move the answers around. Sometimes the answers are long and impossible to move around on my phone screen.
5 ★My prof was using Tophat b4 Covid and I was ill (pre-disability diagnosis) so I had to stay home. Bc of Tophat I was still able to participate in the lecture & see the slides he was projecting. It was really useful for shy/socially anxious students to type instead of talking irl Now that there is a "I'm learning remotely" feature because of the pandemic, classes are even more accessible. I hope tophat keeps the feature and profs/teachers allow students to use it to keep learning from home.
1 ★The app was working well up until yesterday morning, now the app says that I have connectivity issues when I'm using the same WiFi connection to run the app on my computer. The app works on my computer but it's much slower there. Why doesn't the app work on my phone? Customer service takes to long to answer, I have due dates to meet. What a waste of $90.
1 ★This is possibly the worst app I've ever used. there are constant connection issues. I had to pay for this service and it's given me such a headache in return. I'm almost done with my semester using top hat and hope a professor will never have me use it again. I asked for customer support at the beginning of the semester and still haven't recieved an answer that will fix my issue. I have to take a full exam on this app, and there's no assurance that it will work properly. This app is frustrating.
1 ★I strongly urge professors to stop using this platform. It doesn't work, and it poses a detriment to student
1 ★Absolutely overpriced to gouge poor college students. I had to pay for a full semester and ended up using it for 2 months until COVID made things complicated. Charging so much for such a simple function is an absolute outage and I hope I never have to touch this steaming junk heap of an app ever again. Shame on this software and any professor that requires it.
4 ★As a student, this is a good app. Makes it easy for me to keep up my notes, quiz/test interface is very nicely designed. Kind of quirky sometimes is the only flaw. For example if I open another app and come back, sometimes the presentations and quiz questions won't load and I have to restart the app. Slows me down a bit in class.
1 ★Logging in to the website I can view things just fine. Logging in to the app is a different story. I paid for a whole semester and while it shows this on my web version, it shows me I have no subscription in the app. If the web version has 50 items in a slide, the app shows only 39.
2 ★It is driving me crazy that I am trying to scroll down to a particular part of my book in TopHat, and the screen decides to scroll down by itself past the point I wanted. Not to mention some paragraphs are not directly accessible through the menu, so I depend on scrolling up and down for some sections of a chapter, while facing the scrolling issues I have just mentioned.
1 ★I have a Samsung phone. On launch of the app, I am prompted to enter my University name. However, there is an error stating that the TopHat application is unable to communicate with the Top Hat internal network. It is not possible to go any further. This is not an internet problem. The app generates this error regardless of whether I am using the AT&T 3g wireless network, Wifi internet at the university or the wifi internet at my home. Reviews here all have the response. "use the browser". hmpf
3 ★All is good, but sometimes it takes time for the assigned to load. But overall, awesome
3 ★It's convenient for the most part, I believe the most frustrating aspect of this app is the fact that is sends me really far up or down an assignment page when I barely scroll. I only have to slowly scroll a few micrometers and the whole page jumps around a lot which is annoying.
