Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).

1 ★I have been a member of ViewBug for several years now. The apparent purpose of the service is to facilitate photography contests wherein prizes can be won by photographers who take the most appealing image relevant to the subject matter as determined by a "voting process" (Viewbug asks site members, especially those who take part in the contest, to vote at their leisure, so it's a biased process to begin with). Viewbug caps the number of times a photographer can enter a contest and bars entries to certain contests entirely unless you agree to pay them a monthly membership fee, which I have done. However, all site members (whether they're already paying for a membership or not) are constantly bombarded with email after email "advertising" their membership, and there is no way to opt out of receiving these emails except to completely opt out of all emails. This website has options for opting into or out of contest-related emails, "special offers", photo stats, likes, comments, "community updates", etc - there are a total of FIFTEEN types of updates you can choose to receive or not receive including one called "personal invitations" (I'll get to that in a minute), and I have opted out of every single list EXCEPT the one about contest updates for contests I've entered (not new ones, it specifies that). But, I still receive emails about membership (which I already pay for) over and over again. I've even reported this problem to them and warned them that I would be reporting it to officials if it didn't stop, and they answered me by telling me their system is literally set up to send membership offers to everyone regardless of what emails they're subscribed to. The worst part is, these offers are frequently disguised in very misleading ways. Regularly, an email will have a subject line similar to "Attention! Your photograph has been handpicked for this contest" and a link inside the email supposedly meant to facilitate my approval of the contest actually just leads to the contest page. No photograph of mine has been "selected" and there's nothing special about the exchange, it was a trick to get me to look at a contest I had no interest in entering. Furthermore, they frequently advertise flat-out lies about sales. There was recently a Labor Day sale advertised as a $600 value which actually came out to $198 at the absolute most - I literally did the math and checked, and when I addressed this with them it was just ignored, I got no response at all. This website is malicious, it's a platform to trap photographers and creative individuals by luring them in with "prizes" I'm positive nobody actually receives (the only documentation I've ever seen of supposed winners is on Viewbug's own site, nobody has ever posted elsewhere about winning anything), and then tricks them into paying money for a service that isn't real, and then constantly reminds them that they have to pay by advertising fake sales even to people who are already paying them with no opportunity to stop the advertising. It's a huge attempt to coerce people into paying for nothing. In fact, all the prizes they supposedly offer? They're supposedly "partnering" with the companies that provide them, but I've never seen a trace of evidence from any of those companies even mentioning Viewbug, which, if the point is cross-promotion, you'd think there would be at least a Tweet or something right? Nothing. Viewbug is a fraudulent service and a spam advertiser.
2 ★I really like what the app is for, being a photo sharing app allowing for contests. I love this app for that, but there are so many bugs. Nearly rverytime I tried to upload photos or join a contest I get kicked out of the app and it says the app says I've lost connection to the internet while I'm at full bars. It makes it really difficult to enjoy the app.
3 ★The App NEVER WORKS!! I pay the membership fee yearly & NOT ONE TIME this yr have I been able to use the APP! I ALWAYS have to go to the web & see anything regarding my pix/page/acct! It's absolutely ridiculous! I loved viewbug but after a yr of this, when my membership renewal comes next mos. I will NOT be renewing! I feel like I've paid for something I never even got to use! The site-Great.. The App-SUX! Really hope you fix it!
3 ★This app is amazing, the community is lovely, but there are alot of problems and bugs. The photo quality is terrible, it wont let me see winners of competitions ive entered, the entire app glitches out when i exit and go back in. Other than that its great. But there are alot of bugs you need to fix please.
1 ★I was hoping to streamline my use with the app as most apps are designed to run smoother on a mobile device. Unfortunately, set up forces you to follow another photographer from their suggestions. The website version does not require that. This blatant marketing ploy is very distasteful. I refuse to engage with a platform that forces interaction to further its own underhanded purposes.
2 ★Its a really slow design for an app and goodluck customizing your profile. It kept defaulting that i was from afganistan and all of my data wouldnt save or would delete itself when i tried to change it. It really wants you to follow popular photographers on there which is just unfair. Try 500px instead, thats what ive always used and it never failed me!
5 ★I am new to this app, however it seems that you have to sign up for the premium package before you can enter any contests. I may be wrong, it also seems that the pictures that someone would have to go against are professional photographers so the chances of an amateur winning any prizes are slim to none. I do hope I am wrong as the concept of this app is brilliant.
1 ★Every time I upload something, it goes from crisp to pixelated beyond belief and that leads me to delete entries for contests. I have tried over a few months to download the app and try again but same results. Not worth it, I'll just stick to Instagram. Edit: I've unsubscribed to their emails numerous times over the last 3 MONTHS and here I am still having my email filled to the brim with annoying emails from viewbug. I've tried deleting my account, contacting the app makers, they don't care.
1 ★App does NOT reflect EVERYTHING in my VIEWBUG account. App does not show all my pictures or uploads. I have to go to the website to upload pictures, to get accurate Account details and/or to be able to view ALL my pictures b/c they aren't showing in the app. This has caused me duplicate uploads which has repeatedly NOT allowed me to upload my weekly 10 pictures because I CAN'T SEE my pictures on the app!!!! I'M starting to think it's being done on purpose to limit my uploads.
5 ★So far this app is working great. I haven't really got to try everything on the app but it flows and I'm able to navigate without a hitch. To say I have waited a while for this app would be an understatement. After years of using viewbug I can finally access the site easier and more efficiently use it on my phone. I hope to get more of my photos out there by using this app.
1 ★Terrible app. I can't view the photos I'm posting but it tells me how photos I have uploaded. I just can't see them! I also just get a spinning loading sign when trying to upload a profile picture and it also won't allow me to upload a cover photo. Like what is all that about. So so many bugs you really need to fix these issues!
1 ★This platform allows it's members to sign up and add their photos to be displayed to other members. You can only view the photos if you're signed up. It's a great concept and I've been using it for years but they focus on IOS over Android which means the app is janky and half the functions just glitch out. Given how expensive the subscription is, you'd think they could invest some time and money in making a great experience but sadly no!
