How to install ThemeX: Extract Launcher Theme APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download ThemeX: Extract Launcher Theme APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
- Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.redphx.themex-v2.1.1-ApkClean.apk)
- Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

5 ★This app is cool. I was working on a preset in KLWP and I didn't like the icons I found on the web but I hoard icon packs and knew there would be something I liked in several packs. This made it easy to select only the icons I needed. I moved the folders once ThemeX was done and used the icons in my custom music player. I'm sure I will use this more. Thanks!
5 ★This app is great. I am a themeaholic i love customizing themes. The problem is for the launcher that i am using it doesnt have a whole lot of selection and i have to pay for majority of them but witj this app i can keep my launcher and still use themes that i have liked from other launchers. What a fantastic idea. Same with the icon packs.
5 ★It works! Awesome! I don't want a theme, I just need some icons for custom activities, shortcuts, folders, etc... Especially using Elixir (try it!) and Tasker. So I have a bunch of annoying apps that are only icon libraries, which "works" but is cumbersome, slow, and disorganized. Now you can extract the icons into a folder, sort them, delete the crap ones, and delete the library apps. Sooo fantastic!
5 ★Icon packs can be pretty big file sizes and of course you never need all of the icons in them. So if you are looking for an answer to saving just the icons you want and then save storage by uninstaling the icon pack, you have to try this app.
5 ★Does exactly what it says and that's exactly what I wanted. My only complaint is that it doesn't name the folder it extracts to the same as the icon pack name. No problem though.... I've donated and if this app was useful to you, you should too: 'The laborer is worthy of his hire.'
5 ★Mixing icon packs, enlarging icons independent of one another, adding icons to Zooper Widget, allowing icon placement not possible with desktop grid. These are the things you can do with ThemeX. I can't recommend it enough to those who love making a device their own.
5 ★For those who can't figure it out, open it, save whatever icons from whatever theme, then edit your icons like normal, but instead of picking from an icon pack, select your gallery or file explorer. Click the image you want, from any pack you've saved, and it uses it. It's awesome. There is no limit to what you can do. Every single icon can be from a different theme, in your app drawer, even the icons on the folders themselves. The ONLY thing that could make it better, would be changing the shape of the icons, and size, to match theme to theme. But, I would never sleep if you could do that. I am always tweeking the icons, and then saving a backup, so I can switch from theme to theme, just by loading up the backup I labeled for the color I want that day, or hour, or minute. Plus, when you save the icons that look illuminated to your gallery, using them makes them quite a bit brighter, and you can make the saved icons a little larger with the crop option in your gallery. Excellent app. I've had a few crappy days at work, because I'll be editing icons, and my alarm goes off.
5 ★I wanted to use a popular Android icon pack for my PC so I came across this, the extraction of icons and docks works well, in some cases there are only 3 wallpapers displayed, though the theme actually has plenty more, but since I didn't need them anyway, 5 stars
5 ★Love it, used it once and ran over to the site to donate. This is freaking awesome. I use ADW so of course the amazing icons from other launchers were just something I could look at and wish (I don't want to install competing launchers, that's just silly.) But now I can use almost any icons I want. Can't wait for you to cover more launchers. Youse rock.
3 ★I really like the idea of this app, but is there a way to change all the icons to a certain theme simultaneously? I have lots of apps on my phone and it will take me forever to change each one individually.
5 ★I'm an idiot. Wrote a negative review because I couldn't get it to work. On what I thought was an icon pack but was an app that changes icons. So sorry. Turns out it's flawless.
5 ★An essential tool which allows you to extract individual icons from your installed icon packs, as well as complete icon sets and wallpapers/docks. The latest updates have brought compatibility with the latest icon packs and this is now an essential install on all of my devices. I find that having multiple icon packs installed take up a lot of room, so being able to extract the images I need for my desktop makes things a lot easier to deal with. Brilliant work. Nothing even nearly in it's class. ThemeX does an essential job and does it well, without costing a penny. What more could you ask.
