UNBK singkatan dari Ujian Nasional Berbasis Kertas dan Pensil adalah ujian nasional dimana siswa mengerjakan pada Lembar Jawaban Komputer (LJK).
Seleksi penerimaan peserta didik baru (PPDB) Perguruan Tinggi Negri (PTN) maupun Perguruan Tinggi Swasta akan memakai nilai ujian nasional (unas). Mekanismenya, Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Timur tidak menggunakan passing grade di tingkat provinsi. Melainkan passing grade di setiap daerah. Selain itu, hasil ujian nasional berbasis komputer (UNBK) serta ujian nasional berbasis kertas dan pensil (UNBK) tidak dibedakan.
Tingkat integritas untuk soal UNBK dianggap belum seperti UNBK. Meski begitu, semua pihak yang menyelenggarakan UNBK tak lantas dianggap tidak jujur atau curang. ’’UNBK dengan standar pengawasan yang baik juga bisa jujur,’’
