Description
Murder at the Cocktail Party is a kind of game you have never seen before. It's a traditional board game: You play with physical cards and components as in every board game. But the cards have built-in NFC chips, and your mobile phone will act as game master.The game is for 3 to 6 players. In the first part of the game, players walk quietly through the rooms of an old house, and one of the players will commit a murder. In the second part of the game the players investigate the issue. They discuss with each other to recover what really happened in part 1, so they can find and punish the guilty murderer. The murderer himself will of course lie about what he did and try to blame someone else. Playing time is about 10-15 minutes for each party.
The game is offered as "print and play", which means you have to make the components yourself. To play the game you need at least the following components:
-The game boards. It's two pages which you can print from our webpage
-Two decks of standard playing cards
-30 stickable NFC tags
-A few playing pieces in different colours
As far as I know, you can't buy ready made NFC playing cards anywhere. But if you do find it somewhere, feel free to use them instead of making your own (as long as the chips are open for writing).
The basic game for 5 players is free. It is also possible to buy an expansion with 6 players and extra cards.
