Zdążył zyskać oddaną rzeszę miłośników listopadowego ścigania. Zawodnicy spotykają się w Narodowe Święto Niepodległości na bydgoskim Placu Wolności. Stamtąd biało-czerwonym szpalerem wyruszają na pięciokilometrową trasę. Biegowy szlak nie jest łatwy. Prowadzi brukowanymi uliczkami starówki, bulwarami nad Brdą. Często zmienia się nawierzchnia, nie brakuje podbiegów, schodów i przewężeń.Bydgoski Bieg Niepodległości w środowisku biegowym jest uznawany za symboliczny koniec biegowego sezonu. Wielu zawodników startuje w naszej imprezie po to, by ostatecznie podsumować swoje osiągnięcia. Stąd duże zainteresowanie imprezą i prognozy na udział ponad 1 500 zawodników w bieżącym roku.
