Description
De Mare is een basisschool met een lange traditie.In 1928 wordt de school opgericht als een opleidingsschool, om vervolgens in 1977 een Montessorischool te worden.
De school telt ongeveer 830 leerlingen.
De school ligt in één van de mooiste wijken van Rotterdam, namelijk Vreewijk. Dit is het grootste tuindorp van Europa.
Onze school is een openbare school. Het bestuur van onze school is het Bestuur Openbaar Onderwijs Rotterdam.
De openbare school wil een ontmoetingsplaats zijn voor de kinderen uit verschillende milieus en gezindten, waar zij met elkaar leren omgaan, elkaar leren accepteren en respecteren en vertrouwd gemaakt worden met de maatschappij waarin wij leven.
Dat kan niet anders betekenen dan dat in de openbare school ruimte zal worden gegeven aan de verschillende godsdienstige en levensbeschouwelijke opvattingen die in onze maatschappij bestaan.
