Since Napoleon won the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, seventeen years ago, Europe has enjoyed an uneasy peace. While the great empires of Austria, Russia and England have tried to stem the tide of revolution, France has mastered steam power to conquer the air and sea. Now, Napoleon’s health is failing, and France is torn between his legitimate heir, Franz, and his illegitimate son Alexandre.

4 ★Overall I very much enjoyed the story, the alternative events following Waterloo was a very interesting aspect. I did rather dislike the repeated gender affirmation as well as the sexual orientation situation that arose. A singular multiple choice answer should be sufficient, but I feel like I had to answer the same question several times throughout the course of the book.
4 ★Excellent skill based simulator with unpredictable choices and plotlines both simple and tricky. I don't think there's any problem with the sparse ending if you fill in details with your imagination, though not for the sex scenes...you may end up feeling very dirty after playing this, but setting and gameplay-wise, it's a good game.
3 ★Price was a bit high considering how short it was. Also I really didn't think much of the confusing gender options, it just doesn't feel necessary to the story, boy/girl gay/straight would have been fine. I can say I enjoyed the story you get punished quite heavily on some of the decisions and it's not always apparent which choice best suits your character but I muddled through in the end. I liked the writing style and got really sucked into the story at times, which was good, so overall I give it a 3/5. I would definitely read more from these guys. Just cut the gender fluid rubbish and make 'em a bit longer.
1 ★For a game that's about the French Revolution, there's hardly anything in the beginning of the story about the French Revolution, but every other choice is about whether I'm a boy, a girl, or if I'm undecided. Then the next choice is whether I know I'm a boy but prefer being a girl, or if I prefer being a boy, or if I'm undecided, or if I'm a girl who knows she's a girl, or if I'm a girl who thinks she's a boy, or if I'm both... Come on, really?!? Can there be some aspect of life where liberal politics and the LBGT agenda aren't shoved in my face at every turn??? I just wanted to play a choose your own adventure game, not question whether is gay, or hi, or straight, or something else.
5 ★Cant sob and be salty, leaving a bad review just because i cant afford therest im gonna be honest, this game was amazing. The storyline had beintrigued the whole way through, every option was thought about thoroughlyand when alexandre had a wine glass shattered on him and it only statedthere was 'blood' i was sweating. Amazing well thought out writing andimagry. I can only imagine the amount of content beyind 3 chapters. Thankyou for developing this wonderful game and changing peoples perspective ofnapoleonic history. I adore this classical masterpiece. You deserve to getpaid for all your time and effort keep up the good work. Yours truly~
5 ★Bloody brilliant. By far the highest quality writing I've seen in a CYOA. While most are quickly paced with a focus jn the events and not fleshing out the world, this is an exception. The excellent plot, setting, and beautifully described world brought this adventure to life. A huge thumbs up to the authors!
2 ★I got this when it first came out and I was very excited as I love period pieces. The steampunk was an interesting addition. However, I barely got through the first quarter of the game and I won't be doing a replay. The story ended up being rather dull and it completely put me off when I had to reaffirm what 'gender' my character was multiple times. Maybe next time you want to be politically correct dont make it so freaking heavy handed it ruins the story. Especially in A PERIOD PIECE with extremely new ideologies. Although seeing as it is becoming a very common trend with your games I might just save my money and stop bothering.
5 ★Just like to add that as a trans-person it is very refreshing to see a game that has more gender options than boy/girl, even if it is somewhat unrealistic for the historical setting (flying ships are also unrealistic for the setting you closed-minded bigots...) and GUESS WHAT? You have the CHOICE you can be a straight cisgendered bore all you want so stop crapping on the mere presence of choices... Last time I checked options were a good thing...freakin nazis...
