“Wahai orang yang berselimut! Bangunlah solat tahajjud pada waktu malam, selain daripada sedikit masa (yang tidak dapat tidak untuk berehat) iaitu separuh dari waktu malam atau kurangkan sedikit dari separuh itu ataupun lebihkan (sedikit) daripadanya: dan bacalah al-Quran dengan tartiil”(Surah al-Muzammil ayat 1-4)
MUKADDIMAH

Rohani pula dapat dibina dengan menperbanyakkan ibadah ruhiyyah ikhlas semata-mata kerana Allah.
Oleh itu qiyamullail merupakan salah cara membina rohani yang mantap dan seterusnya menjadi penjana jatidiri setiap mu’min. Usaha ini tentunya memerlukan azam, kekuatan, ketabahan, dan pengorbanan kerana nafsu, iblis dan tenteranya sentiasa berusaha memenuhi ruang dan peluang yang ada.
PENGERTIAN
Qiyamullail ialah bangun pada waktu malam (menghidupkan malam) dengan beribadat kepada Allah seperti bersolat, membaca al-Quran dan berzikir semata-mata mengharap keredhaan Allah.
SEJARAH QIAMULLAIL
Pada awalnya qiamullail wajib bagi rasulullah dan para sahabat. (Lihat surah al-Muzammil 1-10)
Namun setelah setahun disyari’atkan amalan itu menjadi sunad muakkad bagi setiap umat Islam .Namun ia tetap wajib ke atas Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. (Lihat surah al-Muzammil 20)
