Isi dari kisah Nabi Yusuf a.s. ini berlainan pula dengan kisah-kisah nabi-nabi yang lain. Dalam kisah nabi-nabi yang lain Allah menitik beratkan kepada tantangan yang bermacam-macam dari kaum mereka, kemudian mengakhiri kisah itu dengan kemusnahan para penantang para nabi itu.
