Al BarzanjiAl Barzanji adalah suatu do’a-do’a, puji-pujian dan penceritaan riwayat Nabi Muhammad saw yang biasa dilantunkan dengan irama atau nada. Isi Berzanji bertutur tentang kehidupan Nabi Muhammad saw yakni silsilah keturunannya, masa kanak-kanak, remaja, dewasa, hingga diangkat menjadi rasul. Didalamnya juga mengisahkan sifat-sifat mulia yang dimiliki Nabi Muhammad serta berbagai peristiwa untuk dijadikan teladan umat manusia.
Nama Barzanji diambil dari nama pengarangnya, seorang sufi bernama Syaikh Ja’far bin Husin bin Abdul Karim bin Muhammad Al – Barzanji. Beliau adalah pengarang kitab Maulid yang termasyur dan terkenal dengan nama Mawlid Al-Barzanji. Karya tulis tersebut sebenarnya berjudul ‘Iqd Al-Jawahir (kalung permata) atau ‘Iqd Al-Jawhar fi Mawlid An-Nabiyyil Azhar. Barzanji sebenarnya adalah nama sebuah tempat di Kurdistan, Barzanj. Nama Al-Barzanji menjadi populer tahun 1920-an ketika Syaikh Mahmud Al-Barzanji memimpin pemberontakan nasional Kurdi terhadap Inggris yang pada waktu itu menguasai Irak.
PENULIS KITAB BARZANJI
Kitab Barzanji ditulis oleh “Ja’far al-Barjanzi al-Madani, dia adalah khathîb di Masjidilharâm dan seorang mufti dari kalangan Syâf’iyyah. Wafat di Madinah pada tahun 1177H/1763 M dan di antara karyanya adalah Kisah Maulîd Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.[1]
Secara umum kandungan kitab Barzanji terbagi menjadi tiga :
1). Cerita tentang perjalanan hidup Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
2). Syair-syair pujian dan sanjungan kepada Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam dengan bahasa yang sangat indah.
3). Shalawat kepada Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
