Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★Very nice coverage of our native regional trees. I learned all the Western Washington native trees as a Boy Scout in the early 1960s, but over time, I find that fewer and fewer are readily available in my mind, in spire of occasional refresher efforts. This will help me refresh more frequently, since I won't be distracted by nonnatives, and it will be with me even when other references aren't. -*- Unfortunately, there are aspects of the app that are problematic. The most egregious of these is that all the images are in a low level folder named "Pictures," and lacking a ".nomedia" file. That means that apps like "Gallery" will glom onto the 340 images, and offer them up to you in various contexts where they are undesired. ***Caution*** Adding a ".nomedia" file to the folder makes that problem go away. ***But*** The pictures folder is also used by other software, most properly using subdirectories, but many not. If you add the ".nomedia" file, none of the images for the other apps will be available in the Gallery or other image-selecting apps. -*- I've uninstalled the app from the second device I installed it to, and will think over what I am dealing with here. I will keep it on the first (more recently acquired) device until a problem develops. I may decide adding 340 more images to the ~40,000 already in my cloud backups is not a big deal. -*- Bad mojo here.
