Description

Paranoid for Android analyzes all the apps installed on your device to identify apps which could be spying on you. It does this by analyzing the combination of permissions granted to each app.

For example, an app which can determine your exact location is fine: an app that can determine your location and report it back to someone else using SMS or the internet is more risky. A well-known messaging app which also tracks your location and your phone calls for no valid reason is definitely questionable, as many people have only just discovered.

This is a free app: if you like it or find it useful, please consider buying me a coffee (in app purchase) to encourage future development.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★What the heck is this I didn't download this on my phone
5 ★A+++!
5 ★Really useful for info, and helps you to decide what permissions and apps to keep.
5 ★Good
5 ★Nice app. Although G has something like that built in, this is much better and easier to view. And only one permission is required for this app - ace!
4 ★It works it will make you paranoid.
5 ★This application does it job right, it's simple and effective. No unnecessary stuff.
4 ★I'm not sure if this is the same app I used before but I liked it, this looks the same but has terrible reviews and the icon is different. Same name, did you change your icon? What's going on? I think I'll pass for now.
5 ★Great app
2 ★So, I found a 2gb folder that had copies of all my jpeg pics in it... Not sure why ..there was even new recent stuff from when I wasnt using the app. Found it using disc space explorer, and open as photo in xplore file manager. Android/data/com.alison research. paranoid. Photo cache / each file was abound 1.5mb all numbers,no file extension 2gb total. Guys website kinda talks about the virtues of data mining... It maybe somehow be a function of the app... but im not liking it
