大手商社マンが実際に30年間海外での交渉などで使用していた英語を「大平洋万次郎先生」として収録しております。
万次郎先生が教える「カタカナ英語」は、日本人でも覚えやすく言葉にしやすい英会話で、今まで英語を敬遠していた方や既存の英語教材を途中で諦めてしまった方へ向けた内容となっております。
「月島オリンピック商店街」という仮想都市の中で英語塾を開いている万次郎先生の日常を追う本作品は「ただ英語を習う」教材と一線を画した、飽きが来ずに楽しく続けられる、まさに「あるようでなかった」英語教材です。
