The developer’s goal is to provide a professional looking, simple to use, precise tip calculator app. The app remembers your last entered values, so you don’t need to re-enter them each time. The tip calculation can also exclude tax, so you may enter the tax amount separately and it will be added into the total tip amount and split amongst your party.This is a free application for calculating tips in the United States, however the app is flexible enough to used anywhere tips are added to a bill. The tip is calculated based on the percentage of the total bill. There are 5 pre-configured service levels: Poor (5%), Average (10%), Good (15%), Great (20%), and Excellent (25%). If the pre-configured values do not fit your need, you may also use the scroll bar to select a specific percentage between 0% to 100%. This app also allows you to split the bill and calculate the share for each person, up to 100 people.
The tip calculator is designed to exclude tax from the calculation. You should enter the amount of the bill before tax, and then enter the tax amount in that field. The app only calculates the tip based on the total amount before tax, and adds the tax value separately to give you the grand total. If you choose to include the tax in the tip calculation, just fill in the total amount and clear the tax field.
This app allows you to round up and down to the exact dollar. The calculated information includes the total tip, the total amount plus tax, the tip per person, and the total amount each person owes plus tax.
