La guia de Biblioteques del Maresme es presenta com una eina dinàmica i ampliable per donar a conèixer tots els recursos que tenen les biblioteques d’aquest territori. Aquests recursos es van ampliant any rere any, a la vegada que es creen noves biblioteques o s’afegeixen d’altres que no hi formaven part.Les Biblioteques del Maresme editen anualment una guia de recursos amb els objectius de:
· Donar a conèixer el treball en equip de les biblioteques municipals del Maresme i les seves col·leccions locals.
· Potenciar el treball en equip i enfortir els lligams de col·laboració entre les biblioteques del Maresme.
· Aportar coneixement i nodrir les col·leccions locals amb informació i temes dels quals no existeixi gaire bibliografia.
Des de la biblioteca Pompeu Fabra de Mataró es coordina la realització de la guia i es fa la distribució a totes les biblioteques de la comarca, així com a altres entitats i personalitats del món de la cultura.
L’any 2013 com a novetat, la guia sortí en format digital, en una APP que complementa la guia en suport paper. Això suposa algunes millores:
· Adaptació als nous formats de publicació.
· Actualització de la informació molt àgil i constant.
· Dinamisme i difusió a un major nombre d’usuaris.
· Visualització de tots el recursos en el territori.
