4 ★It works as advertised. Sometimes it takes a while to connect, where the card is instantaneous. But the best part about the app is the locator function. It will find the closest charger to your present location and tell you if its vacant. Or you can find chargers across ther US on their map. Definitely worth having if you own an electric vehicle.
5 ★The EVgo staff are great on the phone. There is real customer service whenever I have had a problem. You don't get put on hold for hours, no impossible phone tree, and the problems are not outsourced to never never land. Most stations work most of the time. But when they don't work the staff are usually able to turn them on remotely at no charge.
1 ★I live in LA. Prices online does not match prices on the app or the machines. The price is lower and misleading on the app at $0.20/min, but the charger and online states $.0.27/min. Customer service would not issue a refund, but instead they updated their systems to reflect the correct price of $0.27/min. Please update your app EVGO. This is terrible and misleading!
1 ★Given the numerous one-star reviews, I was nervous about downloading this app. Nonetheless, given that I recently bought a Kia Niro EV and wanted to take advantage of the 30-day free trial I decided to give it a fair shot. I downloaded the app, and VOILA -- it worked! Once. Since that time, I get the "unable to connect to server" and have soured on the experience even before I try to use a charging station for the first time. Pretty sad given how long EVgo has been in business and its stated desire to be a major player in the market.
4 ★Favorites should be for all of the same chargers at a location instead we have to fav each charger. Map autozooms tolast search location even though im somewhere else now and is too tight. A 5 mile radius would let me see a couple of EvGo chargers. Most important improvement is less for the app and more for customer service. Bolt owners report no charging but tickets are closed because successful chargers on other kinds of cars are seen after report. Maybe there is a different issue occuring
2 ★NFC station activation doesn't work. My physical card works fine, but this app causes the station to report that my account is not authorized. I've had several tech support calls, but evgo can't figure out why it's happening (and they don't seem motivated to do so).
1 ★the app only shows the NC*** # instead of what the charger shows which is the C*** number so when there are multiple chargers I'm stuck wasting my time trying out all the different chargers to see which one is the correct charger. and yes, has happened at multiple charging stations (raley's, whole foods). also the app starts charging me even though my car doesn't get energy yet. I'll start getting charged while it's testing voltage and such so I'm always stuck paying for an extra min or two
1 ★App start timing charge as soon as I plugged in but wouldn't stop when I unplugged. No "stop charging" button & online help said to just unplug. Explained situation to CS so they noted my actual time but they also attempted to reset charger unsuccessfully. App forgot who I was so I removed and reinstalled. Still shows timer running four hours after disconnecting. Couldn't report problem via app. Not impressed but I got $250 credit with my new LEAF so I'll try to use it. Kind of a POS.
3 ★Overall, it functions pretty well. I don't get many errors in the app, and it's pretty helpful in conjunction with PlugShare. That's the thing though: it doesn't have as much info as you get in even a 3rd party app. I continue to use it and can't complain too much. I just wish it had more features.
1 ★Which device do you want me to use? the app or the kiosk? for some reason I can't just plug in and swipe to start, I have to interact with both. most of your stations I visit are out of order, vandalized to the point of being unusable, or never turned on in the first place. why do you charge per minute when the charge rates are variable? why did you nearly double your prices in California making the cost comparable to gasoline again? I've used your service a few times but plan to cancel.
5 ★The app shows you where chargers are, gives you their rates, and even shows you their current statuses! The best part is that they named each of their chargers with unique names, so you can search for chargers by their names once you know them. It's a great feature that's actually very useful!
2 ★It's functional but I get an error message on every single screen. Makes using the app really time consuming and frustrating because every button you click makes an "error unable to reach server" message. Using Android Galaxy s9 for reference. Would use this app a lot more and probably quick charge more in general if this wasn't so unpleasant.
