1 ★Invasive permissions are required for use. If you're using a recent version of Android with granular permission management, you'll notice that the app will refuse to discover a thermometer unless you give the app permission to access your precise location and your contact list. If you want to use your thermometer, you have to allow this app to harvest your data and send it to China.
3 ★This app is ok. It provide the minimum that is, real time temperature. The app provides promises some good functions but falls short. For instance the temp vs time graph doesn't zoom in or out or keep data for more than an hour. The app doesn't run in the background either.
1 ★App no longer connect to my few year old probe. ( Use bbq go ) I look it up on Amazon and this is the app I'm supposed to use, but the newer version no longer will connect via the Bluetooth. I can see the device on my phone and on my computer. However, I was able to use the ink bird app called BBQ go and it will find my probe and connect just fine.
3 ★It's a good app however there is definitely room for improvement. I have had repeated crashes and UI issues when operating off of my tablet. I understand that you have a physical product to worry about however the Bluetooth capability is why many of us bought your product. Please continue to make improvements.
3 ★Others have mentioned the problem with constantly loosing history (even when you in range). Even when there is the graphical history the scale is so large it is impossible to determine what the past temperatures where. For example, with my probe reading 141F the temperature scale only has three values: 70F, 142F and 212F. There are no horizontal lines making the graph useless.
4 ★As many are finding, as Bluetooth *can* be used to locate you, you need to enable location permissions to use this app. I only use the app at home so i see it as no big deal. My only issues happen when i get out of range, and as far as I'm concerned, that's my fault. One feature i would like though, is for the temperature warning to have a snooze feature, rather than cancelling the monitor. When hot/smoking you need to constantly adjust temp back into range, and this would make this much easier.
1 ★Why does a bbq temp monitoring app require pricise location, access to my contacts and phone calls, as well as a connection to other devices it isn't using. If this isn't spyware then tell me what is... It's a shame as without the privacy invasion it's a good enough app that does the job. Screw you. Oh, and after a reinstall now it won't connect even though my phone knows it's there, I'd wager if I allow it 'precise location' it will connect immediately.
1 ★The app has potential... but, the bluetooth connection fails all the time (almost every time the phone is locked). This renders most of continuous monitor functions, graphs and alarms unreliable or just pointless. I feel if they just fix this basic issue, the app will be alright. If they were to add some kind of memory function it could actually be good. This would mean that I wont lose everything every time a crash or connection failure does occurs. SG10s+
2 ★For basic monitoring the app is just fine. I use it with the Soraken Smart Wireless Thermometer and have managed to get it working on three different devices so far. However, the trending and graphing is not good. If you lose connection you can lose the graph. If you remove a preset from a probe you lose the graph (why remove the history just because I remove the preset??).
5 ★This app works perfectly for me. I'm about 40 yards from my smoker. I do get notifications it disconnects but this is irrelevant because the app reconnects immediately... I just turned the app drop notification swicth off in settings. Of course you would want to leave the temp alarm settings on. Also don't close the app while its running. As long as the device is on and the probes connected it shoukd reconnect to your device right away. The cook history is perfect as it immediately reconnects.
1 ★Used app on an old phone with EasyBBQ Thermometer and it worked fine. Now the Bluetooth does not pair with with newer phone & EasyBBQ for a second shows up in the Bluetooth setup & will not pair. The EasyBBQ Thermometer does pair with my ipad. BBQ Go works & is EXACTLY the same and will pair So, I think that the EasyBBQ app needs to be updated. I could not find the EasyBBQ Thermometer on Amazon anymore I do not know if it is available anymore.
4 ★Works well. Useful device. Stupid screen display. Only four of the six temperatures can be seen without scrolling. Slightly smaller text would be fine even on small phone screens. Why not include a six channel bar chart view? Why not have an option to show all six temperatures on the graph display.
