Mupen64Plus, Android Edition (AE) is an N64 emulator for Android. It is currently in Beta testing, which means it is a work in progress. There are still many graphical, lag, and audio problems, even on modern devices. Visit www.paulscode.com to get involved in development and testing, as well as bug-fixes and FAQs.
In order to avoid potential copyright issues related to game screenshots, I've decided to use only public domain games and demos for screenshots. However, if the app gets pulled from the Market again, you will still be able to acquire future updates for free on paulscode.com.
This app is licensed by the GNU GPL v3, and the full source code is available through the public GIT repository at https://github.com/paulscode/mupen64plus-ae If any developers would like write access to the repository, please get in touch with me (Paul) on the support forum. If you need help branching the project, just let me know, and I can help you get set up.

Internet - The internet is used to send crash reports. It does not download viruses, spyware, or ads of any kind, and it does not collect any private information. Normal data rates apply.
Write External Storage - The device storage is used for writing savegames and custom input profiles.
Vibrate - If your device supports it, vibrate is used for Rumble Pak emulation and haptic button feedback
GETTING STARTED
- Transfer ROMs anywhere to your internal storage/SD card
- Browse to them from within the app
- Default SD card directory on most devices is /mnt/sdcard
- ROMs must be in .n64, .v64, or .z64 format, optionally in .zip files

How to install Mupen64+AE FREE (N64 Emulator) APK on Android phone or tablet?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).

4 ★Works great on its own! Would rate it 5 stars if it had FULL Ps4 controller support. I notice it has 360&Ps3(neither of which are bluetooth to phone capable tho lol) as well as Xperia and OUYA support. None of these options work in place of a Ps4 option. Upon trying to customize the Ps4's inputs you'll find that the left stick, dpad, and right stick are all considered the same and thus dont map properly. But diagnostics recognizes them individually.. its only mapping that doesnt.
2 ★Bad emulator This emulator is bad because I want to play Mario 64 but when I click play or restart it will go back to the emulator menu. But I saw for a second is (loading emulator) so I know this is a fake emulator.
4 ★I love this emulator, much less crashy than +fz version. Only problem is that in Battlezone: rise of black dogs, the textures are trippy. See for yourself. Great app!
1 ★Runs fine, inputs are pure trash. Every single game the controller always goes over to the right. The dead zone has been set, and i have tried 4 controllers.
5 ★To be blunt, mupen64 is the shizz... I have used this app for a couple years now and very seldom have I ever found a game that doesn't work (function) properly. Very few games are not playable (007) without an external controller which is still only a $10-ish expense and way worth it. Thank you for this app!

4 ★This a great emulator, and it's just very easy to use, but there are some roms that u can find on freeroms that don't really work on this emulator and in any other emulators, but this is only a problem that is occurring with the free roms site. Overall this the best n64 emulator you can find out here.

3 ★This plays awesome with regular games, but with games like kirby 64 and mario tennis, (basically like early 2000's games) its HORRIBLE. All the main textures are replaced with black squares! And kirby 64 was basically unplayable because i didnt have the option to skip the tutorial! And with rom hacks, its even worse, it straight up just freezes the app when i try to even freaking open it. This really all needs to be fixed. Especially the rom hack problem, and put it on tge update log when you do.
5 ★This Is The Best N64 Emulator Ever! It's Running Turok 2 Smoothly But Did Anybody Know How To Fix Video Glitch While Playing Vigilante 8? Because It Just Black Screen I Can Hear The Music Playing Smoothly But I Can't See Anything, I Already Try To Change The Video Plugin But It Still The Same, I Hope This Glitch Could Be Fixed, And Also Thank You Very Much For Making This Awesome N64 Emulator👍👍👍 I Owe You One.😊
5 ★This is the best n64 emulator but the only problem is sometimes when you open the rom it crashes pls fix it! And i like the app too
5 ★The experience is almostt as good as the actual console. The only thing is that audio can be choppy, but thats probably because I have a lower end phone from 3 years ago. Way better than the normal versions of Mupen
