3 ★Update (2020-04-29): WSJ, LA Times and Jonesin haven't updated for a while. I wonder if the app is no longer being maintained, which is a pity since there doesn't seem to be a great alternative. WSJ has gone missing again 😒

5 ★LA Times is the best. Been playing this app for a few years and I love it Have been using it since my last review and it keeps on ticking. Continuing to be the best.

1 ★This app used to be great, but since the new Android os update, it no longer works for me. I primarily use the app to import .puz files, but since the os update, my phone no longer recognizes alphacross as an app that can open .puz files. I'm not sure if this is something the app developers can fix, but it's disappointing since a previously great app is now useless for me.

5 ★Could use a couple tiny QoL improvements (would love to have a small arrow pad on the keyboard to navigate the puzzle better on smaller screens) but overall a great app for playing select daily newspaper puzzles. This has replaced my old crossword app.

4 ★Good crossword app, with a few interface niggles that can't be turned off (re-centres the crossword when changing clues, double 'click' zooms when I'm just changing clue orientation, etc). But at least it's ad-free.

3 ★Fixes my crossword Jones (edit) dropped to 4 stars because I can't stand being bugged for a rating when I've already rated. Idk how hard it is to cross check if someone has already rated a game b4 asking them to rate it but I know it costs stars if u don't. It cost u one from me and another from now on everytime I'm asked 🤨 (5\6\21 and another star has collapsed into supernova....Good job boys 👍)

5 ★Challenging but not overwhelming crosswords and no annoying ads - seems the perfect mix.

5 ★An outstanding crossword app! It does not have its own built-in puzzles. Instead, you choose subscriptions to various sources, mainly newspapers: NYT, LA Times, USA Today, and some lesser known. Turn on all the subscriptions for just one week and you'll have close to a hundred puzzles of various themes and difficulty levels (Monday is the easiest for most). The interface is clean and easy to navigate. Most importantly, it is that unicorn app that is, somehow, FREE WITH NO ADS!

4 ★I enjoy many features if alphacross. I especially like the Los Angeles Times puzzles as they get harder as the week goes on. The app is customizable as far as whether or not to skip filled in spaces, when to show errors and even has a choice of two fonts. It used to have a button below the puzzle where you could select "across" or "down." Not sure where that went but it's still fairly easy to change direction by taking on the puzzle itself.
