Ein Kinder- und Jugendradio, das von Kindern und Jugendlichen gestaltet wird: Im Kinderdorf Pestalozzi in Trogen – oder vor Ort in einer Schweizer Schule mit dem Radiobus – schnuppern 8- bis 18-Jährige Radioluft und präsentieren ihr eigenes Programm mit Schwerpunkt Interkulturalität, Kinderrechte und Anti-Rassismus.Das powerup-radio der Stiftung Kinderdorf Pestalozzi ist ein Beitrag, die interkulturelle Sensibilität und Kompetenz der Kinder und Jugendlichen zu fördern. Radio ist ein Medium, mit dem Kinder und Jugendliche gerne arbeiten. Mit dem Radio haben sie ein Sprachrohr, ihren Anliegen eine Stimme zu geben; sie fühlen sich ernst genommen.
Die Ausstrahlung der Sendungen auf einer eigenen UKW-Frequenz vervollständigt das ganzheitliche Erlebnis Radio und hat so auch eine Wirkung im jeweiligen Wohnort, in dem Eltern und Interessierte die Sendungen via UKW, Kabelradio und Webradio und später als Podcast mithören können. Die neue App vervollständigt das interaktive Angebot und ermöglicht den Hörerinnen und Hörern aktiv am Programm teilzunehmen (Audiorecorder).
