PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) adalah suatu pendekatan untuk melatih komunikasi dengan menggunakan simbol-simbol verbal. Awalnya PECS ini digunakan untuk siswa-siswa pra-sekolah yang mengalami autisme dan kelainan lainnya yang berkaitan dengan gangguan komunikasi. Siswa yang menggunakan PECS ini adalah anak yang perkembangan bahasanya tidak menggembirakan dan tidak memiliki kemauan untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang lain.
