Pada tahun 2009, Menteri Pendidikan Nasional mengeluarkan Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional Nomor 46 Tahun 2009 tentang Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan.
