Community, liturgy, cultural heritage - the parishes and churches in Styria are valuable landmarks of their society, and are honoured through the mobile application “Church 2.0”. This app contains amongst other things a church finding tool, pilgrimage-relevant content, a live-church service – and much more!No matter where you are in Styria at this moment, you can find the shortest distance from where you are based to the nearest parish or place of pilgrimage. The app also contains the most important information on all the parishes, detailed descriptions of the cultural history of the pilgrimage sites are also available, as well as a 360° panorama as well as a spiritual text along with the appropriate audio-file, so that the selected powerful places can work their magic on you even better.
A live-stream in cooperation with the Hartberg parish, which has been known for its live-broadcasts of church services for a couple of years, will enable you to follow Sunday Mass and Mass on religious holidays “on the go”. A push-notification a few minutes prior to its beginning will remind you of the beginning of the church service.
An additional service provided by the „Church 2.0“-app is a brief resumé of the patron saint of the day and current news from the Diocese Graz-Seckau.
This mobile application, available for both Android phones and iPhone, was designed by the EU-Project “Pilgrimage Europe SI-AT”, the New Media-department of the Diocese Graz-Seckau and the Hartberg parish. The Graz-based company “Codefluegel” is responsible for the technical implementation of the app.
