O Maciço do Gericinó-Mendanha é uma importante formação geomorfológica localizada na Região Metropolitana do Estado do Rio de Janeiro entre os municípios de Nova Iguaçu, Mesquita e Rio de Janeiro, abrangendo uma área de aproximadamente 7.972,40 hectares. Sua área verde é apreciada tanto pela riqueza de fauna e flora quanto pela grande beleza cênica de sua paisagem e a sua conservação.Através dessa maquete 3D é possível compreender alguns conceitos cartográficos, geomorfológicos e ambientais, sendo de grande contribuição para o ensino de Geografia.
