How to install GWMobile APK on Android phone or tablet?

Download GWMobile APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:

Update Phone Settings

Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK

Go to Downloads

Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (edu.gwu.acadtech.gwmobile-v3.1-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

3 ★this is a great idea, except it's a little useless to the average student - we all have GWPD in our contacts list, thanks to CI. This should be updated to include the new 4ride online system, and GW should get up with blackboard and enable the mobile app for students - more than half the student body has a smartphone, it's embarrassing that we would spend time and money on a mildly useless app instead of improving something we all use every day - ie, blackboard.

5 ★A useful app for getting around, and getting more information about GWU

1 ★As of 08/25/11 GWU only provides access to this Blackboard app for Sprint Android customers.

3 ★This app is not very useful for off-campus students.

4 ★I downloaded this with very low expectations, but this app is pretty good. I'm going suggest it for all the other GW students I know.
