Description

OCaml Toplevel for Android allows you to use a standard Objective Caml toplevel (interactive mode) on your Android device.

This is a fork of Keigo IMAI's "OCaml Toplevel on Android". I heartily thank him for his help and support on this project.

About Caml: "Caml is a general-purpose programming language, designed with program safety and reliability in mind. It is very expressive, yet easy to learn and use. Caml supports functional, imperative, and object-oriented programming styles. It has been developed and distributed by INRIA, a French research institute in computer science and applied mathematics, since 1985." (Caml homepage)

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★Version 3 instead of 4. Asks for access to files but won't read ocaml source code. Froze on a syntax error in the repl. Why bother making this thing?
3 ★Does not respond if the code goes in an infinite loop. Top-level doesn't allow input. Literally made for Android 2.x that doesn't really work on Android 6.
4 ★This is better than I thought; at first I didn't realise you could use #use to import scripts. I still prefer using Caml Light in Dosbox though :)
5 ★I really like this simple app for checking OCaml ideas that I have on the go
4 ★Very nice. Would be better if it had load and save so I could compile files written elsewhere.
5 ★Brilliant, although badly needs an upgrade
2 ★sur miui 7 sur un string_lenght
5 ★Thanks for this
