Around 800,000 people in the UK are living with dementia. This number is expected to reach 1,000,000 by 2021 and to double within 40 years.There is a lot that we can do to improve the way we interact with people who have dementia, no matter what role we have in our workplace or community. Whether you are a receptionist, a gardener in a care home, a housing worker or working in the Police, it is increasingly likely that we will meet people who have dementia in our daily lives. With the right knowledge, we will be more informed and better placed to understand what life is like for the person with dementia and how to improve the quality of that life.
This resource is intended to help you to feel more confident when working with people with dementia.
