5 ★Perfect - simple picks up sound great, works when locked. No ads. I don't mind ads, but the first two I tried had ads so jarring and invasive, I uninstalled. This one actually works better. Thanks for this!
5 ★No ads, no forced cloud uploads, no data eating, no complex settings. It records audio, compresses well, date-stamps, and plays it back on demand. If you are on the rebound from a broken iPhone, and want a drop-in replacement Voice Recorder (albeit no iCloud support), this is perfect. It does exactly what it says on the tin, records audio as .MP3 or .m4a, and lets you play it back. The audio is stored on your device at Internal Storage/Music which is perfect for transferring between devices.
5 ★A nice and simple voice recording app. Clean UI, no special permissions required. However, after upgrading to an Android 10 phone from Android 6, there is a slight difference in functionality. The app no longer has an option to "save recordings in". I used this option on Android 6 to save my recordings to the SD card. In Android 10, this app only stores voice recordings to the Music folder on internal storage, without any way to change it. When I copied my older recordings (made on Android 6) from the SD card to the internal Music folder, the app does not see them. On Android 10, the recordings list within the app only lists the recordings made by the app since it was installed on Android 10. I am running the same version of Simple Voice Recorder (5.1.3) on both Android 10 and 6.
5 ★Beautiful app. I tried 7 apps before this. This app does exactly what it says. Simple voice recorder means voice recorder. I love this app. They ask permission only to use microphone as it is a required access. If you love privacy, this app is for you. Other apps asked permission for photos, videos, messages, wifi and phone calls. They were only stealing personal data.

3 ★Seems very simple and useful. Many voice recorders make it flashy with sound bars/graph look. If you could make a large button instead of sound bars. For us busy people...we just want to push a large button and go...on and off. My brain take an extra "milisecond" to see the small button at bottom. But maybe you'll have more downloads with "Flash" look. 3 Stars for now because I will nor use with small button. 5 stars later if you change. Great app though. Thank you
4 ★The app isn't suitable for me because it can only record to MP3, not to WAV or FLAC. I never want to risk any singing or piano playing I record being unintelligible due to lossy encoding. Apart from that, the UI is simple and easy to use. The waveform while recording gives confidence it's working. One flaw: it's confusing that the record view shows the previous recording's waveform and timestamp prominently, not grayed out. It makes it look like pressing Record will resume recording from there.
3 ★Clean UI. Offline w/ few Permissions. No ads. Records adequately. Has true SD card suppport. I do wish it supported Bluetooth. I also wish for a Pause/Resume function & Play controls in the Notification. Its date format options won't apply. Still, this voice recorder app is better than most, it just needs to mature a bit, IMO.
4 ★Seems to be an excellent app in typical SMT style: fast UI, to the point, truly simple. Not giving 5 stars for only being able to record to mp3, where I would expect more modern codecs like opus, perhaps ogg vorbis, and a lossless one like flac for when every bit of quality matters.
5 ★Super simple and easy to use. Saves voice files to my phone, unlike my old app that only kept them in the app itself, which made it hard to share. I like it. Also, no ads. Very nice.
5 ★Other audio formats like OGG,AAC and FLAC should be supported even though current m4a and mp3 is workable.
