5 ★So far its very good especially helpful for pronunciations
1 ★It's a rip off. They advertise it as free with ads, but you have to buy a subscription for every vocabulary lesson after the first one. If I could've given it negative stars, I would have.
1 ★I understand its 'immersive,' but holy cow does it start off fast. I can read it to an extent, but I struggle with audio, and I cant even get past the second phrase on beginner because its essentially three sentences and I just cant understand it at all. I tried to just use it to learn what things sound like but the "great job" is *so* condescending, esp. when I lost track after the first syllable. Looks like it is a hard pass for me, which is sad because there are so few apps for scot gaelic.
4 ★Great platform! I have only one suggestion to make it better. Where possible, show foreign words with English phonetic spelling especially where the foreign language uses English characters but assigns different sounds to those letters or letter combinations. This would be helpful in learning to pronounce words properly.
5 ★So I got this app to learn garlic (Scots) and so far it is great, very easy to follow with the daily lessons and massive list of categories you can learn like animals, numbers, agriculture, etc would 10/10 recommend. Only problem I have found so far is that if you go off the app while a recording is playing it will not stop and you can not stop it without closing the app completely even if you reopen it.
1 ★The app immediately asked for permissions to my devices media, without any explanation first as to why. This isn't a photo or video app, so why are you asking? If it truly is required, explain to me why before making the request. I'm sticking with Duolingo until this is resolved.
5 ★This course is very well thought out. Visually, attractive and also the course filled a solid need of mine, learning Scots Gaelic. I have used another Scots Garlic since I first tried this course, and this one, Blue bird, takes less time. Also, I am retaining more on Blue bird then the other course Therefore, I give Blue bird 5 🌟
