4 ★Fun game overall. Nice features, but limited. Playing defense instead of it simmed out would be nice. Went ahead and spent the $1 to upgrade. Purely because there are no ads or interruptions. These dev's should be rewarded for that and my dollar shows my appreciation. Now, once I get to play D, you will get the 5th star lol
4 ★Excellent game. Play style is like Tecmo Bowl but streamlined. You don't get to pick your plays, just audible. Outside of gameday you get extra depth in drafting players, hiring free agents, and other front office aspects. Will feel good to old Tecmo players. FYI - you don't play defense, the game just auto-generates the results of its possessions.
5 ★Found the game addictive. Moved on from medium to dynamic after slaughtering teams often. Dynamic is about right for me although finger positioning and dexterity in throwing sometimes an issue for me. I'd like to have an injured reserve corral of a couple players to activate upon an injury or just sometimes play a different offense or defense. Maybe just a cap of 25m in the IR. Enjoy the game thanks.
5 ★Fun, and really complex for just a pixel game. It has a cool relation to another old school game that wasn't as fun as this. I love how it's a whole career you can play and the outcomes of certain situations affect that.
5 ★Straight up, this game is fun. Controls take a bit to get used to, but after a while it feels more natural. Reminiscent of Tecmo Bowl but with it's own flavor. Highly recommended 5/13/21 still enjoying the replayability of this game, and also how much you can customize it. Great game
3 ★I really enjoy the game but the matches are "scripted". Yes you control the offense but if the game doesn't want you to get a first down they will make your receivers miss the ball. You can hit then with the ball and they won't catch it. Even if your defense has a higher star rating then the opponents offense, if they want you to lose they will make them score every drive. Frustrating because the game has fun mechanics.
4 ★I Decided to revisit my review and man was I in a bad mood that day. lol My biggest gripe was that quarters needed to be longer. Now that a year has passed I am still enjoying Retro Bowl. I think the merit system should be more generous. Winning a playoff game should be worth at least 5 credits. Also, returning players should automatically level up. I don't think that's asking alot. It would be so much more satisfying after a Bowl win to actually reward the players with something tangible.
5 ★Hugely enjoyable game, great fun. It is not trying to be an exact simulation with hundreds of slick options, so don't expect that. The on field game play is simple and there is some element of team management involved, I think the balance between both is just right.
5 ★Very good game. Have had no issues. Anyone who has rated this game 1 star had experienced 1 bug and deemed it 1 star. Maybe if they had played it a little bit more they wouldn't have experienced any bugs. This is a really fun game and you should definitely install. Don't listen to the people who rated it 1 star because they only experienced 1 bug
5 ★Excellent game all around with one exception, the lack of defensive controls. The addition of that would make this the best mobile football game ever of its kind. Just a simple 3 choice option man, zone, or blitz. Otherwise this is my favorite game by a long shot
5 ★This game is amazing! So much to do and very investing. It would be amazing if there was some type of online play or even online trade. That would make this game 10x better than it already is. Hope you developers listen. Great job👍
5 ★This stuff is addictive. Passing is hard and I wish it was more in depth but so far so good. As per usual in app purchases to upgrade stinks but that's what's going to happen now a days. Wish I could just pay for a premium version and not deal with that. That said game play is fun and engaging.!!!
