A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).

1 ★App takes forever to load. Syncing activities is a very big issue, complicated to setup and doesn't seem to be accurate. Having to 'spend' your steps is poor design. This is the second health challenge app my work has used and easily the worst, do not recommend.
3 ★App needs a lot of work. Google Fit does not work well, and the app won't recognize Samsung Health. Won't be playing again.
5 ★I love walking but struggle to find the motivation. This really helped and made it fun!
3 ★Does not calibrate steps accurately
3 ★The game itself is okay but giving it 3 stars because the app doesn't play well with an android phone. Most of the time it was glitchy and took forever to open.
2 ★There were days when I could not sink my steps and did the app did not record the 10K steps. This is to be a team app, and we had 9 people and we lost to people who only had 1 or 2 people teams. Our points were divided by 9 people. Not a good way to build up a team. Did not like this app.
5 ★Overall fun great experience with my team! Highly recommend and would do it again!
1 ★Auth is completely busted on android. Signing up requires username and password, but restarting the app requires a Google login. The Google login is completely broken and says to contact the authors of the app.
1 ★1st day of Turkey Trot (TT) had to uninstall both A Step Ahead and Google Fit. Reinstalll and still not able to record steps or sync apps. 2nd day of Turkey Trot and still not able to sync my phone with apps. Now, to add insult to injury, I can not log back in to my account. I tried resetting the password, plus the request to change the password is frozen in time. I can not access anything or anyone! It's so frustrating, I can't participate with my team, and I am the captain of my team. SMH!
2 ★The idea as a group / work activity seems really fun and engaging, however the game has some broken mechanics around it, which ends up isolating and disadvantaging players who are not in a team. What's further punishing is that when you create a character you have to join a team, and if none are available, make your own. At this point there is no way to change this. So if you created an account in hopes of joining a team after everyone else created, you're out of luck.
