Description

The National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) cognitive exam is a computer adaptive test (CAT). The number of items a candidate can expect on the EMT-B exam will range from 70 to 120. Each exam will have between 60 to 110 ‘live’ items that count toward the final score. The exam will also have 10 pilot questions that do not affect the final score. The maximum amount of time given to complete the exam is 2 hours.

The exam will cover the entire spectrum of EMS care including: Airway, Respiration & Ventilation; Cardiology & Resuscitation; Trauma; Medical; Obstetrics/Gynecology; EMS Operations. Items related to patient care are focused on adult and geriatric patients (85%) and pediatric patients (15%). In order to pass the exam, candidates must meet a standard level of competency. The passing standard is defined by the ability to provide safe and effective entry level emergency medical care.

2 ★Incorrect answers and obscure information not needed for the NREMT. The app tells you to immediately use high flow oxygen on any patient with chest pain...anyone who has taken an EMT course knows that's a big no no.

4 ★For the most part, is an adequate study guide for EMTs. My complaints are with the questions used pertaining to Glasgow Coma Scale but with contradicting information in order to score it properly, resuscitation procedures for pediatrics, and the overall grading. Exams sometimes gradess incorrectly: I answered 18/20 right, I receive 17/20 correctly answered with no explanation of where this third question I got wrong is. Sometimes the explanation for the answers during the exam are cut off.

4 ★I used this app as well as pocket prep. I liked pocket prep more but this was still useful. There were a few spelling errors as well as some questions that contradicted each other. So be sure to verify an answer if it doesn't feel right.

5 ★Its easy to use. I open it and go through it whenever I have down time, making studying really easy. It does a full breakdown of every question, explaining why each answer and why it is either correct or wrong for thr scenario. Definitely worth the purchase.

5 ★great app - got it 3 days before the NREMT (weekly subscription) and ran through most of the quizzes and half the practice tests. i appreciated how there is usually an explanation after missing a question. passed the test so i don't need it anymore but would recommend.

1 ★Not the best option to pass the NREMT it serves up poorly worded questions with no information to decipher an answer and 4 solid answer choices, pretty much like the NREMT but harder. Some questions aren't even emt-b level..frustrating... this app takes the LC-Ready approach of making the questions harder than the actual test because they think that makes you better. But the sheer amount of questions are solid practice. Pocket Prep is better it tells u were in ur book the information is found.
