Description

The Calamus is a companion for tabletop roleplaying games, such as Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder, that allows you to create huge battlemaps utilizing dozens of hand-drawn tiles, create custom PC, NPC, and FOE tokens, and host games in which players can add and move their own characters in real-time.

The Calamus also features a robust chat, in which you can send messages as yourself or any token you have in play, publicly or privately.

Fog of War and 2x2 Characters have recently been added.

Note: To use the app you will need to make an account, which includes your email address. We only use this for communication such as a lost passcode or rare announcements of new features or bug fixes. We will not sell your email address or spam you. Further, signing up for an account grants you a 7-day free trial in which most of the features of the app are available. After that, you can sign up for a monthly or yearly subscription. 4 ★So I literally just got this and I actually like it a lot on the whole. Problem is, it keeps locking on me. Like when I'm trying to make a map it keeps going to the lock screen and asking for my passcode. Any suggestions? Edit: awesome thanks? I did have a question though, for the fog of war do you plan to have some sort of restrictions for walls and such? So the players can't see whats outside or inside a building? Edit 2:I was wondering if you had any plans to add new tiles? Like tavern tiles?

4 ★Make a map and invite a friend. Consistently improving, young new app that subscription fee to cover server traffic. The map maker is intuitive and assets are growing. 4 star for now until we get closer to a final form.

4 ★I accidentally signed up for the player only subscription before my free trial was up and lost access to all my maps! Now, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upgrade my account. I'm supposed to host a game this weekend based off of the maps I'd painstakingly created, and now I think I'm screwed :( Please take my money!

4 ★I enjoyed the app. It's much more interactive, and easier to move layers, than in other apps I used. My only wish is that it there were a sci fi version, since I typically run EotE. Either way, useful, and usable, for sure!

4 ★Brilliant then frustrating. It works lovely until you want to scroll across the map, that's when it decides to select all your boxes and paste something. But when you want to select all your boxes, it scrolls. It has cut out on me twice this morning too.

4 ★I enjoy this app a lot. It has a few bugs where token duplicate while it try's to catch up with the stuff going on. Other than that it's pretty awesome. Cant wait to see what features and tiles they add in the future.

3 ★Easy to get started, nice style, I like the steam punky vibe. Didn't mind the subscription requirement, but... Didn't like how clunky it felt to navigate the app, the UI needs to be a bit more streamlined.

1 ★I wanted to enjoy the app. But I got hung up by the terrible password design. And then typing it in correctly and consistently was told it was wrong. And the password reset could take up to 24 hours. This was a bad execution at a creative idea. In the end you guys would do better with a normal password shield

4 ★I love this app I think the menu is easy to navigate and I think that it's honestly the highest quality map maker on the app store, but I'd like to request that you add tokens for machine gun turrets and and soldiers I'd love to utilize this app for my wargaming 😁😁😁... Maybe tanks and cars

5 ★This app is amazing. Especially for new and experienced DMs. The price tag on the subscription is a bummer but this app really helps build encounter zones. Zooming out really lags out the maps but that might just be my phone.

1 ★Poacher, they offer a few different options and it's actually pretty fun so you make a scenario or two and then they lock you out and tell you your free subscription had ended. Nice job guys, you suck.

1 ★I like the map making tool so far, but I am still in my free trial and the app won't load. It just stays on the loading screen. Update: continues not to load. Very disappointed.
