MAJAS merupakan sebuah akronim dari Ma’had Syaikh Jamilurrahman As-Salafy, yang beralamat di Dusun Glondong, RT. 04, Desa Wirokerten, Kecamatan Banguntapan, Kabupaten Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), 55194. Kemudian, akronim MAJAS dilekatkan pada Radio dan TV yang dikelola oleh Pondok Pesantren Syaikh Jamilurrahman As-Salafy.
Bersama dengan berjalannya dakwah, Ma’had Syaikh Jamilurrahman As-Salafy telah berhasil mendirikan radio yang dikenal dengan nama Radio dan TV Majas yang mengudara sejak tahun 2004. Frekuensi Radio dan TV Majas berada di 91.9 FM serta streaming radio (internet) di www.radiomajas.com. Siaran-siaran Radio dan TV Majas dipancarkan langsung dari studio Radio dan TV Majas yang berada di salah satu bangunan Pondok Pesantren Syaikh Jamilurrahman As-Salafy. Beberapa faktor kendala menyebabkan siaran Radio dan TV Majas sempat terhenti dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Alhamdulillah, sejak Desember 2011 siaran Radio dan TV Majas dapat mengudara kembali hingga sekarang.
Untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut, pada Desember 2014 Ma’had Syaikh Jamilurrahman As-Salafy mulai menyusun langkah untuk mendirikan sebuah televisi dakwah yang diberi nama TV MAJAS. Menurut rencana, tahap awal penyiarannya melalui streaming TV (internet) di www.majas.tv. Dengan adanya kesamaan dalam beberapa kegiatan operasional maka studio Radio dan TV Majas akan digabung dengan studio TV MAJAS, sehingga menjadi studio Radio & TV MAJAS. Tim pengurus Radio & TV MAJAS sedang merumuskan konsep-konsep dan mempersiapkan peralatan yang diperlukan dalam rangka terwujudnya TV MAJAS. Sebagai hasil awal dari kegiatan tim tersebut, dengan segala keterbatasan, beberapa siaran TV MAJAS sudah dapat dinikmati melalui YouTube dengan kata kunci (keyword) “MAJAS TV”
