مهدی جهانی خواننده، آهنگساز و ترانه سرا متولد ۱۹ فروردین ۱۳۶۰ در شهر تهران است.پدر او شیرازی و مادرش اهل گیلان است.
مهدی جهانی هنوز مجرد است.
مهدی جهانی در فیلم خوابم میاد رضا عطاران در نقشی کوتاه و ۱۵ ثانیه ای حاضر شد.
پدر او گزارشگر قدیمی فوتبال بوده و برادر مهدی جهانی هم در رادیو مشغول به کار است.
محمد جهانی رادیو ورزش را تاسیس کرد و مدیر این شبک رادیویی نیز می باشد.
مهدی همراه با پدرش به رادیو می رفت و از همان زمان علاقه او به آهنگسازی باعث شد که به کلاس های نواختن گیتار برود.
او ۱۱ سال پیش توانست با راهنمایی یکی از دوستانش برنامه های آهنگسازی را یاد بگیرد.
مهدی جهانی بیش از هر خواننده ای با علیشمس همکاری داشت و با علیشمس در کلیپ های مختلقی دیده شد.
علیشمس به دلیل اینکه نتوانست مجوز بگیرد از ایران خارج شد و به دبی رفت.
او به دلیل همین کلیپ ها در حدود ۶ ماه ممنوع الکار شد.
آهنگ های ترک هم نفس و خورشید زیبا از آلبوم دنیای خواب او بسیار طرفدار دارد و این آهنگ ها بارهای از شبکه های مختلف تلویزیون پخش شده اند.
مهدی جهانی به کارهای اشوان و امیر عباس گلاب علاقه دارد و از بین بازیگران هم به رضا عطران علاقه دارد.
