Di Indonesia, ada dua imam masjidil haram yang sangat terkenal bacaan murottalnya, terbukti dengan seringnya bacaan murottal keduanya diperdengarkan di berbagai masjid dan atau diperjualbelikan DVD-nya di berbagai tempat di seluruh Indonesia. Yang pertama adalah Syaikh Abdurrahman as-Sudais, dan yang kedua adalah Syaikh Su’ud Asy-Syuraim.Syaikh Su’ud Asy-Syuraim adalah salah satu Imam di Masjidil Haram, Makkah. Beliau lahir January 19, 1964 di Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ciri khas dari bacaan beliau adalah suara yang agak serak dan juga bacaannya agak cepat jika dibandingkan dengan banyak qari’ lainnya. Bagi kami, bacaan beliau enak didengar dan mudah dihafalkan, serta tidak terlalu lama jika dipakai untuk mengimami shalat. Beliau menjadi imam shalat tarawih di Makkah sejak tahun 1991, menghafal Qur’an sejak kelas 2 SMA, dan mengdapatkan gelar doktoral (Ph. D.) dari Universitas Ummul Qura Makkahdan merupakan seorang professor pada bidang fiqih.
