1 ★Wouldn't connect to my YAS-108 until I allowed the app access to my location. Tested this multiple times. Location allowed, connected fine. Location disallowed, connection failure and demo mode only. Unnecessary and unethical. Hopefully a future update removes this ridiculous dependency.
3 ★Unable to pair ATS-1080 Galaxy S5 and Pixel 2 with Bluetooth even after changing the settings in the Information tab & reinstalling app. Tried everything short of changing developer settings & could not get it to work. Update: Finally able to pair with Pixel 2 after 3rd reinstall. App is pretty good, but volume button is sluggish. This is the first time a setup process for Bluetooth seemed so complicated.
1 ★Did literally nothing...wanted to use to set up my surround but was inoperable. Said it was connected to device but stuck in demo mode and kept hinting to reconnect. Useless
3 ★Decent user interface and options. My major gripe is that the every time you exit the app and open it again, even if it's within a second, the app goes through the entire process of re-pairing with the soundbar and takes 10 seconds to start working again.
1 ★Not stable for YAS 207. I have the YAS 207 which is a great soundbar with subwoofer. On occasion, my subwoofer would drop it's pairing with the soundbar. What I would do is unplug the subwoofer and plug it back in. One day I was watching a YouTube video and decided to adjust some settings with the ht controller app. As soon as I clicked on the app and while the app was loading, my soundbar made a distorted sound and the subwoofer dropped pairing. Uninstalled app and everything is ok
3 ★Doesn't allow for treble/bass control. Has pre-set audio modes that really don't get the sound that I'm looking for on my Yamaha ATS 1080 soundbar. If it were to provide bass/treble control, I'd give it a higher rating. Does allow to store app on SD card!
2 ★You have to reinstall when it inevitably stops working. You'll be able to tell when it breaks because it will request location data and then get locked in demo mode. Too bad the developers aren't aware or able to fix it. It's been this way a long time.
1 ★Could not get it to work beyond demo mode. Tried clearing cache/data, reinstalling and countless other trouble shooting steps. My phone is an S7. Just bought the ATS 1080 and very annoyed that a bunch of features are locked behind a broken app.
3 ★It works but kinda looks old and has some issues at start. Needs more work but eventually does the job.
3 ★I have a YAS-207. There isn't much that the app can do outside of basic adjustments, e.g. volume and base. There are some presets which are pretty useless. I leave it on DTS surround sound and all shows, movies, and music sound great.
2 ★Just got a YAS-108 and the app doesn't work. Even found an older version and it doesn't work either. Bluetooth on my Nexus 6 says "Yamaha AV" instead of "YAS-108" most of the time. Sometimes it says "yamaha av" sometimes doesn't/
1 ★App does not work. Bluetooth is properly paired. The app will only go to demo mode or send me to bluetooth setup even though my bluetooth is already connected to my Yamaha ATS-1080 device. There is zero troubleshooting help for this on Yamaha's website.
