The HiSET (otherwise known as the ETS High School Equivalency Test) is a standardized test released in the year 2014. It was created by the ITP (Iowa Testing Programs) and ETS (Educational Testing Service). It is a new way for people who didn’t finish high school to earn a diploma and get on track for college or a career. Test takers can choose to take the exam using a computer, or with pencil and paper. The HiSET test lasts several hours, and is not easy to pass.
The HiSET exam include fieve subtests:
Langugage Arts - Reading: 65 minutes, 40 multiple-choice questions
Language Arts - Writing: 120 minutes, 50 multiple-choice questions and 1 essay prompt
Mathematics: 90 minutes, 50 multiple-choice questions
Science: 80 minutes, 50 multiple-choice questionsand
Social Studies: 70 minutes, 50 multiple-choice questions
